Frequently Asked Questions

The Trans Youth Summit (TYS) is a free daylong community conference organized by trans youth, for trans youth, sponsored by MTPC, BAGLY, Greater Boston PFLAG, and OUT MetroWest. The TYS aims to build community, combat oppression, and provide education and resources to those who need them. This gathering of 200+ youth includes interactive workshops, identity-based groups, panels, lunch, and access to gender-affirming wear. The event is open to all trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive people 24 years old or younger. In addition to the youth segment, MTPC and GBPFLAG offer separate programming for parents, guardians, and caregivers in order to provide support, information, resources, and networking.

The Parents and Caregivers Track offers connection to other caregivers of trans youth, experts, and trans advocates. It includes access to info sessions and panels, support groups, and other resources. This track is designed to help caregivers show up better for the trans youth in their lives and to support their futures.

Since 2008, MTPC has partnered with BAGLY to provide this much-needed opportunity and space for trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive youth to build community, get connected to essential resources, and participate in workshops to explore identity and increase knowledge on important topics such as legal rights and trans-inclusive health.
