Teasha Purdy
Trans Activist Award
Teasha Purdy (she/hers) is a proud Boston-born trans woman of color who has been advocating and performing in this community and surrounding areas for 21 years strong. She’s a chosen mother, auntie, godmother to many, and has nurtured our community’s young hands-on because she vowed that she would not allow to see any who have been turned away, struggle without support.
Taj M. Smith
Trans Excellence Award
Taj M. Smith (he/him) is a Black transgender educator and founder of Rooted Respite, a burnout support community for activists, DEI professionals, and others working to dismantle systemic oppression. His written work appears on Believe Outloud, Huffington Post, and QChristian Fellowship.
Carmen Paulino
In Service Award
Carmen Paulino (she/her/ella) is a mother of five who proudly lives her life through a lens of love, kindness and respect for all in her community. Drawn to lifting up others, Carmen has dedicated her career to supporting her community. She believes that every child deserves endless love, support and an affirming home. She believes that every child has an inner spark. She and her husband Roje opened their home as foster parents to children who identify as transgender and gender non-conforming.
2024 Performers
The Femmes are an all-woman and non-binary party and wedding band specializing in songs by female and non-binary artists. When you’re at a Femmes show, you’re at a high energy concert experience. Epic sing-alongs, expertly crafted harmonies, and musicians who absolutely LOVE to interact with the audience, the Femmes are Boston’s go-to women’s party band!
