EsthétiqueEsthétique is a safe and private esthetician salon in Newburyport. Paula Jackson offers makeovers with instruction as well as skin care treatments and education. She's a member of TCNE and IFGE and is incredibly trans-friendly.

I had a wonderful makeover with instruction with Paula. She's not merely trans-friendly; she is supportive, understanding, and incredibly kind. She was patient and took her time with me. As a transwoman in the early stages of transition, I found it incredibly helpful to get professional help with putting together a look that fit my frame, shape, and color. For the first time, I was able to visualize completing transition. It was worth weeks of therapy. I'm also still navigating around the issues of coming out, and Paula's studio is safe and private, which was key for me. I highly recommend Paula. Please support this valuable supporter of our community! (Link Checked 8/12)

David NicholasDavid Nicholas is an internationally acclaimed professional makeup artist and makeup trainer. He offers makeovers with instruction and organized makeup training curriculum geared towards professional artists. He is incredibly CD- and trans-friendly. (Link Checked 8.12)

David is awesome: he's incredibly talented, and funny to boot! I was amazed at what he was able to achieve with just a little foundation, concealer, and powder. I was so impressed that I've decided to take the "Studio" level professional training program. David is in the process of developing a separate curriculum for laypeople. To paraphrase, "the curriculum will be the same that a teenage girl learning to be a woman would get." On top of his talent (he has a long list of film, print, and celebrity credits), he's kind and charitable. He specializes in reconstructive makeup for those "deformed" by various conditions, helping people blend in. (He's affiliated with Shriners.) He is also committed to helping those who are less economically fortunate, including trans people, with his services and education. He carries his own line of cosmetics, which makes shopping for cosmetics safe and discreet. Oh, and he himself dresses: the lovely lady pictured on the trans page is him! (My jaw dropped when he told me!) Finally, he's in Charlestown right by Sullivan Square, which is huge for me since I'm T-bound. Go see him! You won't regret it!"
