Interfaith Coalition for Trans Equality (ICTE)
Best wishes for your Trans Awareness Month (November), including the international Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR).
Founded in 2007, MTPC’s Interfaith Coalition for Trans Equality (ICTE) connects trans people in Massachusetts with supportive faith community, empowers them to further the welcoming and inclusion process, and organizes the MA faith community in support of trans equality.
ICTE led the successful faith campaign for the Trans Equal Rights Law (passed November 2011), and is working for the Trans Equal Access Bill (public accommodations, filed January 2013). Click here for more about current legislation.
ICTE has a Blogger and a Facebook Group, and is planning to add a Twitter. ICTE is chaired by MTPC Steering Committee member Mycroft Masada Holmes — Mycroft@MassTPC.org — but is in a leadership transition because Mycroft has moved to the Washington DC area.
Most months, ICTE holds a Gathering at 14 Beacon Street #614 in Boston from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (6th floor, turn left then right). Please RSVP if you can, but please know that it is okay to gather with us if you can’t.
We were at the First Event conference in January — as part of their largest offering of spiritual programming ever.
All are welcome to gather with us at our online and offline homes. You don’t need to be trans or a person of faith. Come and share information, inspiration and support with other trans and allied people interested in working at the intersection of Massachusetts’ trans and faith communities.
