Transgender Civil Rights: A Community Meeting in Beverly

[download meeting flyer, pdf] [view map]

Date: Saturday March 24
Time: 1:00 pm
Place: First Parish Church of Beverly
Address: 225 Cabot Street, Beverly [map]

Come learn about the state of transgender civil rights in Massachusetts, how it affects you, and what you can do about it.

Issues of discrimination on the basis of gender identity and gender expression affect everyone, not just transgender and gender-variant people. Newly pending statewide legislation holds the promise of a more level playing field for all people, regardless of their gender. Join with us in a friendly discussion of this legislation, what it is and isn't.

This community meeting will include a session on how to advocate with policymakers and politicians, ways to support the transgender civil rights movement, and everyday things you can do to end discrimination. This event is open to everyone interested in creating a more safe and mutually respectful society.

Light refreshments and materials will be provided.

Co-sponsored by the North Shore Transgender Alliance and the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition.
