Tell Your Story!

To effectively advocate against discrimination, we need to tell our stories, both negative and positive. For this, we need YOUR story. If you've suffered discrimination or special help or support at any time because of your gender, share your story with us. However great or small, you'll be helping us tell our story to those who will vote on trans equality in Massachusetts.

Take Action!

Right now, we're working to pass statewide transgender-inclusive civil rights legislation, and we need your help.

Here's what you can do to help get this passed:

  1. Contact your Representative and Senator. They need to hear from you, to hear why it's important to you that they get this legislation passed NOW. The best way is to meet with them in person, but you can also call or write. Click here for more
  2. Meet with your legislators in person and educate them on transgender issues. MTPC will provide you with all the materials and lobbying training. If you're planning on doing this, please call 617-778-0519 or email gscott@masstpc.org. Afterwards, let us know how it went.
  3. Call your legislators - ask them to support the bill
  4. Write a personal letter and send by postal mail. Personal handwritten letters get a lot of attention.
  5. Testify in person or submit written testimony for the public hearing to be held sometime soon. Watch this website for more information on this.
  6. Have your company/organization write a letter of support for the legislation.
  7. Distribute our "Call your legislator" flyer to friends and family
  8. Submit your story. Personal stories are powerful educational tools.
  9. Donate. This campaign, like any other, takes money. Every little bit helps.
