SUCCESS! About 250 people turned out to speak with our legislators about "An Act Relative to Gender-Based Discrimination and Hate Crimes."
Legislators met us and heard about the experiences that transgender people, family, friends, and allies face in the absence of statewide laws affirming the right to freedom of gender identity and gender expression. We put a face on gender identity discrimination and hate crimes, as we continued to tell the truth about lives and the impact of discrimination, both on our ability to contribute positively to society and on our ability to live our lives fully.
