Transgender Equality Lobby Day 2010

Join with us as we speak with our legislators about "An Act Relative to Gender-Based Discrimination and Hate Crimes."

Legislators need to meet us and hear about the experiences that transgender people, family, friends, and allies face in the absence of statewide laws affirming the right to freedom of gender identity and gender expression. We must put a face on gender identity discrimination and hate crimes, and we must continue to tell the truth about lives and the impact of discrimination, both on our ability to contribute positively to society and on our ability to live our lives fully.

Last April we had 300 people lobbying, let's double that number. Even if your legislator is a co-sponsor, come in and help others to lobby.

Get help with calling to make an appointment with your legislator

Please make an appointment with your legislators to meet with them on this day. To do this:

  • Find out who your and Senator are here.
  • Get the office number and email for your State Representative here and your State Senator here.
  • Check to see if your legislators are current co-sponsors here.
    • If so: Thank them for their support and request that they ask their leadership (House Speaker or Senate President) to make this bill a priority for this session.
    • If not: Ask for their support for this bill.
