MTPC’s new campaign I HEART Trans People is intended to raise visibility that Trans youth, adults, and our families are loved, respected, and are integral to communities everywhere. For too long, trans peoples’ experiences have been disregarded by society at large. Transphobia, like other systems of oppression, operates to spread fear and discomfort about difference and this campaign aims to challenge the misconception that being trans means being unloved, unwanted, or on the fringe of society, because it is just the opposite, trans youth and adults are cared about by friends, partners, allies, and family members. This simple, yet strong message is universal and speaks to partners, friends, family members, allies and most especially trans youth and adults – stating loud and clear that trans people are loved.
We look forward to seeing these signs being held high in the Boston Pride march!
