Policy Committee
Currently, MTPC is dedicated to passing legislation protecting transgender rights across the state. MTPC's Policy Committee supports this effort by helping the state prepare to enforce the bill once it becomes law. We draft guidelines to help state agencies understand how transgender equal rights should be applied. Our work spans a broad range of policy areas. For example, last year, we wrote an employment non-discrimination policy and submitted it to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
In developing our policy guidelines for Massachusetts, we research related policies in other states and cities and interview experts and community stakeholders to inform our recommendations. The policy committee offers a great way to become involved in MTPC, learn more about policy, or apply your policy or legal expertise to a great cause.
